Mr. Akinnimi has hands-on experience in various high profile litigation and dispute resolution matters. Essentially, he leads the team handling various product liability litigation based on injury suffered by consumers as a result of breach of warranty, negligence and misrepresentation by manufacturers. He has advised several companies on the causal connection between injury to consumers by unsafe products and the corollary liabilities of the designer, manufacturer or seller of such products.
Mr. Akinnimi has successfully mediated cases of strict product liability which pinned down manufacturers, designers or sellers without proof of their immediate fault. He was on the team of lawyers who recently concluded the Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited “docket closure” of one of the major oil spill cases in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. He actively participated in the drafting and structuring of the Master Franchise Agreement on the Burger King Investment in Nigeria.
Mr. Akinnimi led the team of lawyers who recently drafted and structured the Joint Operating Agreement on Oil Mining Lease (Marginal Field) 14 and was a member of the team that prosecuted and subsequently negotiated/settled the dispute in OPL 245.
