Mr. Osu is a transaction lawyer with varied experience. With over twenty years’ experience, he has worked on various transactions ranging from energy and infrastructure, oil & gas, banking and finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments, aviation and regulatory work. He has advised local and international businesses, including Government privatization transactions and also the buy-side for core investors. He recently worked on a Public Private Partnership transaction between the Lagos State Government and MTN in the development of a multi-level car park valued at over $22,000,000 and was lead adviser for the 4Power Consortium that acquired the Port Harcourt Distribution Electricity Company under the Federal Government privatization of the National Electric Power Authority.
Mr. Osu was also lead counsel in the acquisition of five rubber plantations to create the largest Rubber Plantation Company in Nigeria and acted for Indorama Group in the acquisition of the Eleme Petrochemical Company in Nigeria in a deal valued at US$270,000,000. He was the transaction adviser in both the purchase of equity stake in Hydrodive Nigeria Limited (a sub-sea diving/oil and gas company) valued at $40,000,000 and to BPE in the BPE’s proposed divestiture of the Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries. He was also transaction adviser for the acquisition of equity in Valucard Nigeria Plc, by Visa International, creating the largest card payments systems in Nigeria. He regularly leads the team advising foreign banks/owners/lessors involved in aircraft financing/leasing, as well as lease finance for aircrafts by private aircraft operators in Nigeria.
Mr. Osu is currently advising a Nigeria Conglomerate, the Chicason Group in a multibillion dollar transaction for the creation of the Abuja City Project (a mixed development project in the heart of the capital of Nigeria), and also advising the same group on the acquisition and development of the group’s oil assets in Ghana, Senegal, Kenya, Sierra Leone, etc.
